YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy policy.
This notice explains how We Are Doon Limited (Doon) handles personal information when you browse this website or contact us about a project. Registered in Scotland, company number SC818997. For privacy enquiries or to exercise your rights, email hello@wearedoon.com.
Information you choose to share
An enquiry may include your name, email address, optional phone number, site location, project preferences, timing and the information you include in your message. Please share only what is relevant to your enquiry and avoid sensitive personal information.
How the enquiry form works
When you submit an enquiry, your contact details, project preferences and message are sent to MailerLite and saved in our Website enquiries group. MailerLite sends an internal notification to hello@wearedoon.com so our team can respond. A subsequent enquiry updates your saved contact fields. Submitting an enquiry does not give consent to newsletters. MailerLite also processes technical information needed to operate the form. See its privacy policy.
Sauna guide requests
When you request the sauna owner’s guide, Doon and MailerLite process your name and email address to email you the guide download link. MailerLite also processes technical information needed to operate the form and record your request. We use these details to fulfil your request. Occasional Doon news is optional and requires the separate, unticked consent box; requesting the guide alone does not give consent to newsletters. You can unsubscribe from news at any time using the link in an email, or contact hello@wearedoon.com about your information. For details of MailerLite’s processing, see its privacy policy.
Why we use information
We use correspondence to answer questions, discuss a brief and take steps you request before entering a contract. Where a project proceeds, we use the information needed to perform our agreement. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract and performing a contract; our legitimate interests in responding to general enquiries and administering business correspondence; and legal obligations where records must be kept by law. Where consent is required for an optional activity, it must be requested separately and may be withdrawn.
Website operation and cookies
The website’s own code does not set advertising or analytics cookies, run advertising pixels, or save enquiry details in local storage. Hosting and access services may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, request times and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
Who may receive information
Website hosting and email services necessarily process information when providing their services. Project information may also need to be shared with relevant design, manufacturing, transport or installation partners when arranging the work you request, or with professional advisers and authorities where required. The information needed depends on the project; ask us before sending material if you need details of its intended recipients.
International projects and services
Overseas projects and service providers may involve processing outside the UK. The destination and arrangements depend on the service or project. Contact us for details of any relevant international processing and the safeguards applicable before providing information you are concerned about.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose: whether an enquiry is still active, whether it becomes a project, and whether contractual, warranty, accounting, legal or dispute-related records are needed. Information should not be kept longer than necessary for those purposes. Contact us to ask about the retention of your correspondence or to request deletion where applicable.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact hello@wearedoon.com to make a request; we may need to verify your identity. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not need to contact us first.
External links and subscriptions
Links to the original Doon website, newsletter signup and other services take you to separate pages with their own privacy information. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Changes to this notice
This notice will need updating if the website introduces new forms, analytics, subscriptions or other data uses. The date above identifies the latest version.
