A WET TUESDAY IN FEBRUARY
The first weekend is easy to picture. The ninety-third session is the one that decides whether a sauna was worth building.
It is dark by half four. You light the stove on the way past, go back inside, and come out forty five minutes later in a towel and boots. Two of you, sometimes three. Nobody has arranged anything. You sit, you throw water, you go out into the cold, you come back in. An hour later the house is quiet and you sleep properly.
That evening is the whole product. Everything below exists to make it repeatable in bad weather, at short notice, for years.
One Ardna owner puts it more plainly than we would: “It's getting used every other day. It's so uplifting.”

It will usually be one or two of you, and often just you.
You want it lit on a weeknight, not saved for special occasions.
You want something nice and small. Ardna is the smallest sauna model we make.
SOMETHING ELSE MAY BE MORE SUITED IF…
You want to lie flat. The internal width is 1,350m This is a sauna for sitting. Look at the Mara 4.
There will regularly be four of you. The Ardna is designed to seat two on the top bench, and one on the bottom. Look at the Mara 4

THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DOON SAUNA

NOTHING THAT OFF-GASSES
Inside the sauna envelope we use no glues, resins, silicones or synthetic sealants. Insulation is sheep's wool without polymer binders, so the wall handles moisture rather than being sealed against it.

OPENINGS THAT STAY TRUE
Doors and windows are handmade from Accoya, one of the few timbers that performs reliably through repeated heat cycles. Accoya carries a fifty-year warranty on the timber. Frames stay true. Seals remain tight.

SURFACES THAT TAKE THE HEAT
Interiors are lined in thermo-treated aspen: low resin, stable, calm to touch at full heat. Floors are porcelain tile with stainless drainage. Fixings are marine stainless.

VENTILATION AS ONE SYSTEM
Fresh air enters low, passes the heat source, and leaves cleanly. Bench heights are set to put you in the band where temperature is consistent and circulation is balanced.

LIGHT YOU DON'T LOOK AT
Downlighting is concealed beneath the benches and uplighting behind the backrests. No overhead fitting, no glare, nothing to adjust

We develop the form, proportions and performance details in Scotland. Manufacture is with long-established specialist timber partners in Europe, chosen for expert craftsmanship, consistency and material control.
